Found in Pembroke
This friendly dog has been wondering in Pembroke, in the ITS/Radisson SAS area for the last 3 days. I believe it got lost or was abandoned in these past days since it is still very clean and well groomed. This dog seems very frightened and timid. At the moment we are giving him food and drink and is left sleeping in the common parts of our block of apartments. But obviously this can just be a temporary measure.
I am asking for your help to circulate this e-mail as much as possible to try and find the owner! I already called SPCA, Island Sanctuary and AAA but as you can imagine it's very difficult for them to accept more dogs since they are already full, although they promised to get back to me in case there is a vacancy. Further more if there is anyone who would like to take care of this beauty is more than welcome to contact

Our Sanctuary (AAA) is once again in very serious need of volunteers, especially during the week. All we ask is one morning a week from 9 am to 1 pm. Please come and help us out, you will have 120 dogs running about you and you will get lots and lots of wagging tails and wet kisses in return for your work. Please share this appeal and if you cannot come to help us out your self due to other commitments, kindly encourage others who may be in a position to offer us just one morning a week. Prior to going to sanctuary always please call Rosalind on 79730921. Thanks on behalf of our dogs. "Association for Abandoned Animals", Valletta Road, Marsa Industrial Estate, Marsa ,

Recently a delegation from the Labour Party, headed by Dr. Joseph Muscat, visited our clinic. While meeting our volunteers and staff, we explained how Happy Paws works and had the opportunity to discuss animal welfare in general. We are always Happy to promote animal welfare, particularly in the political arena.

We made 143 Euro's for the clinic with sales and donations.
Daniel Picazo and his sister Nuria are helping us for 2 weeks in the clinic. Daniel normally works in the UK and the United States but also volunteers regularly, recently in Greece and Morocco. Nuria is a 4th year Vet-student at the University of Barcelona. They are finding their way around the Island with the busses and to everybody's surprise, they are very happy with Arriva!

In our never-ending quest to provide a better service to our animal friends, we have now been able to acquire a state-of-the-art X-ray machine, thanks to all your generous donations.

This week we welcome our new Veterinary Surgeon Louise Forrest, who will be working alongside Victoria and we also welcome Sarah from ETC, our latest addition to the front desk. We wish them both Happy Times in the clinic.

We have extended the Hamrun Charity Shop with a first floor (separate entrance) Books and Paintings department. Terry Bliss (here seen with her daughter Kate), a well known personality in the Malta animal welfare scene, has joined the Happy Paws family and taken it upon her to run it. With her love for literature, arts and her dedication to animal charity we are very proud to have her in our midst and wish her lots of pleasure and success. Terry appeals to book loving volunteers to join her in the shop.

Over the Christmas holiday period we have changed the groundfloor reception area.

We have passed the 100 mark with our Adoption Scheme. We recently presented the Falzon family who adopted the 100th dog, lovely Timon with a hamper filled with goodies, provided by Tat-targa Kennels, Happy Dog foods and Loredana (grooming voucher). We wish little Timon a happy life with the Falzons.

For the past 5 years, the popular TV show On D Road, organised a charity ride in aid of abandoned animals. These events were always of a very huge success with the participation of
We welcome Jennifer from Louisiana, a 4th year veterinary student at the University of Glasgow and Richard "Chip" from Pennsylvania, a final year Vet student also at the Glasgow University. They will be volunteering with us for 2 weeks. We wish them a good time!!
With the substantial help of one of our dedicated sponsors we managed to acquire a new Autoclave Sterilizing Machine. Although it is called Nova it works like a dream. The old one was about to become obsolete and we would not be able to operate a proper clinic without this equipment. Thanks to everyone involved in this upgrade.

A well organised Bar-be-que, soothing?? sixties music by DJ's Dominique and Lino....(which led to some sing-alongs) and a dazzling fireworks display helped us through the evening !! Of course, the always popular raffle was also on the menu.
Meet Yasmine from Zabbar. Her Dad found this little puppy a couple of days ago hiding
under a car desperately in need of food and TLC. Although the family already has another dog, they decided to give this little one a loving home. Yasmine has decided to call her Misty. The family brought Misty in for a general check up and fortunately she seems to be in good health after being properly fed by Yasmine. We wish her and Misty a long lasting friendship.
Our latest voluntourist, a graduate Vet student from Glasgow University, helping us out for a few weeks, seen here assisting Louise with an operation. If some of you were wondering....., the metal thing on her back is a GPS transmitter, so we can follow her every move....

With great pleasure we received a visit from Maria Jourdan and Vanessa McDonald who visited the clinic as representatives of one of our sponsors GO. Both ladies had encouraging words for our patients, who were awaiting their surgery. We thank them for their interest and enjoyable visit.

Last Saturday we held the annual Christmas party for our volunteers and their families at the clinic.
We planned to present the Falzon family, who recently adopted the 100th dog "Timon", through our adoption scheme with a hamper filled with goodies from Tat-targa Kennels, Happy Dog foods and a grooming voucher from Loredana, but unfortunately their baby was ill so we will have to do that at another occasion.
